HA5 Task 3 - Final Illustration Presentation

This is the final illustration I have came up with for my Character "Daisy". I have gained a lot of inspiration from games and TV shows and some original ideas of my own which I have used and combined to create something that I think would be great for my game. I have took more time to draw this image as I have previously created some temporary ideas which were only quick sketches to give myself an idea of what would be good and what wouldn't. I have stuck to the theme I have originally been given and I think I have portrayed and completed the task fairly well.



This is the final version that I drew of Daisy. I am fairly happy with how this turned out as I used my own style of drawing and I used the clothing which I think would suit a scientist best in my mind. I included the communication device which is located on her left arm which looks like a watch but is actually like a speaker so she can communicate back and forth with whoever she needs. I thought that this was the best idea because its simple, its convenient as its on her wrist so she can use it easily and I think it just gives off the futuristic vibe I was looking for. I also added in the handheld weapon which is located on her belton the left side. I like this because I thought it was an easy place to quickly draw it out whenever in danger and I think it also makes her look very cool.


This is the final result of the drawing I have. I added the lab environment as it is where Daisy would be to complete experiments and examinations with things revolving around space. I like this environment because I think it looks very futuristic and it also fits in with the futuristic space theme really well. As you can see, I have used and combined previous ideas as you can see from task 2 and presented them together. I think that this character would be quite memorable within a game as it carries out the futuristic space like theme and it just looks quite appealing to the eye.


I have drawn an environment of a sci-fi type of lab, which I would assume for the main location to be as Daisy examines rocks using scientific equipment. I tried to use things such as computers and robot-like things to try and emphasis that this is a futuristic view of what this would actually look like. I am fairly pleased with what I have created for the environment but I think that i could add so much more stuff and improve it in many different ways. I like this design because I like how much stuff is in the actual image which gives it the effect of seeming more high tech filled up with all sort of resources, rather than being empty with one good piece of equipment which wouldn't give the same effect off as this in my opinion.


This is what I have created Daisy's handheld weapon to look like. It looks very sci-fi, fictional and alien like. I gained most of my ideas for the weapon I have created from the "wonder weapons" used with in the Call of Duty: Zombies, as the shapes and overall design of them made me instantly think of space and I also think that they looked cool and powerful. In this drawing, I drawn this in different positions to give an image of how it may look within the game and how it could possibly look like in a 3D perspective as the images that I have provided could possibly be made into a 3D model. I think that I did a pretty good job on creating the weapon as I think a gave it a really unique and effective style that people will like and enjoy using/ looking at. It look visually appealing and I think that it has a really cool futuristic and sci-fi effect. The carrier for the weapon on the top right is rather simplistic and not too futuristic, which is something that I could improve on a tonne to match the theme but I think that it would be quite okay as how I have created the carrier to act as a belt like object allows Daisy to quickly draw it out and use it whenever in danger.


This is a communication device I have created for my game as I think that it is a simplistic design that would be effect, convenient and handy which could come in useful for game-play as you will practically be able to communicate when ever as it acts like a watch and if you need to talk, the concept is that you just lift up your wrist which makes it so the game-play won't be slowed down and it can keep up with a fast pace.  I have also used hings such as shapes and dials to give the device a more of a sci-fi type of look which I think gives it a nice effect and would work really well with my game as it would fit in nicely with the theme.


I have also created my scientific tool kit which was quite difficult to design as I couldn't come up with any great ideas to give off a big sci-fi like vibe. I tried to use some inspiration from what people from the 1970's viewed the future like and I think that I could have elaborated on my idea and made it look a tonne better than it has but I tried really hard to make it look futuristic so it would fit the theme and also suit the character of Daisy.


This is the final design I have came up with as i have gathered a lot of inspiration from other images what this could look like. I went with another simplistic yet effective design where I focus on using a wide range of different shapes to portray an image of a futuristic looking spaceship. I think that this design works very well with my game as it matches with the theme and it just generally looks really cool and I think that other people who would play my game would like the visual appearance of this as well.
